Mint Plates – Shipping & Delivery Policy

At Mint Plates, all number plates are manufactured and supplied strictly in accordance with DVLA and RNPS (Registered Number Plate Supplier) regulations. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.
DVLA Legal Requirement – Document Verification
Road-legal number plates can only be supplied once required documents have been verified.
Customers must provide:
• 1 valid proof of identity (Driving licence or passport)
• 1 valid proof of entitlement (V5C/logbook, V750, V778 or approved DVLA document)
Original documents must be physically verified before any road-legal number plate is manufactured or released.
We cannot produce or dispatch road-legal plates without completing this legal verification.
How Document Verification Works
Option A – In Person (Recommended)
Customers can visit our Northampton location with original documents:

• Original documents checked in person
• Plates produced after verification
• Same-day or next-day service (most cases)
• Collection by appointment or confirmation
Option B – Postal Verification (UK Customers)
If you cannot attend in person:
• Original documents must be sent by secure post for verification
• Plates are produced once documents are received and approved
• All original documents are safely returned with your completed order
We recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery for secure posting.
Production & Dispatch Times
All plates are custom-made to order.
Production begins only after DVLA document verification is completed.
• Same day or next working day production (most orders)
• Orders after 5pm processed next working day
• Weekend orders processed Monday
Dispatch timeframe begins after production and dispatch confirmation.
UK Delivery Options
Standard tracked delivery: 2–4 working days
Express delivery: 1–2 working days
Next working day delivery available on approved orders before 2pm (Mon–Fri)
All plates are securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.
Local Collection – Northampton
Collection available once documents are verified and plates are ready.
Collection only after confirmation message.
Non-Road-Legal Items
The following items may be shipped without document verification:
• Show plates (display/off-road use only)
• Accessories (borders, fixing kits, sticky pads)
• Plate surrounds and fittings
Road-legal number plates cannot be supplied without DVLA document verification.
Order Responsibility
Customers must ensure:
• Registration details provided are correct
• Correct delivery address entered
• Required documents provided promptly
Delays in document verification will delay production and dispatch.
Record Keeping
Mint Plates maintains records of all road-legal plates supplied including:
• Customer name and address
• Registration supplied
• Proof of identity verified
• Proof of entitlement verified
• Date of supply
Records are retained in line with DVLA regulations.
