Returns and Refund Policy

This Returns and Refund Policy explains your rights and our obligations regarding returns, cancellations, and refunds for orders placed with Mint Plates. It applies to all road-legal number plates, custom number plates and accessories purchased from our website or in person.

At Mint Plates we aim to keep our policy clear, fair and transparent for all UK customers.

Cancellation and Change of Mind  
All number plates supplied are custom-made to your specific vehicle registration and order details. Once production has started, orders cannot be cancelled or refunded due to change of mind.

If you need to cancel an order before production begins, please contact us immediately at sale@mintplates.com. If manufacturing has already started, cancellation may not be possible.

Road-Legal and Custom Plate Orders  
If your plate arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrectly produced due to our error, you will be entitled to a replacement or refund.

You must notify us within 14 days of receiving your order by emailing sale@mintplates.com with your order number, details of the issue and clear photographs.

If approved, we will either remake and dispatch a corrected plate at no extra cost or issue a refund to your original payment method, usually within five working days.

If an order is lost or damaged during delivery, we will investigate with the courier and provide a replacement or refund where appropriate.

Accessories and Non-Custom Items  
For non-personalised items such as fixing kits or accessories, you have 14 days from delivery to request a return.

Items must be unused, in original packaging and in resaleable condition. You must notify us within 14 days and return the item within a further 14 days after approval.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty or supplied incorrectly.

Non-Eligible for Refund  
Refunds or returns will not be accepted where a plate has been made exactly to the registration and details provided and you have changed your mind, where incorrect registration details or spacing were provided by the customer, where more than 14 days have passed for eligible returns, or where items have been used, fitted, altered or damaged after delivery.

How to Request a Return or Refund  
To request a return or refund, email sale@mintplates.com with your order number, purchase date and full details of the issue. Include photos where relevant. Wait for confirmation and return instructions before sending any items back. Once received and inspected, we will confirm the outcome and process any approved refund or replacement.

Refund Processing  
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. Processing time may vary depending on your payment provider. For non-custom items that do not meet return standards, a small administration or restocking deduction may apply.

Shipping and Return Costs  
If an item is faulty or supplied incorrectly, Mint Plates will cover return shipping within the UK mainland. For non-faulty returns of non-custom items, customers are responsible for return postage and original delivery charges may be deducted if free delivery was used.

Policy Updates  
We may update this Returns and Refund Policy occasionally to reflect legal or operational changes. The version published on our website at the time of purchase will apply to your order.
